Durning my derive I let myself guide by my guts, by randomness and by what I wanted to see. It was interesting to travel online for once, there are no limits in time or money and you can go wherever you want. Also I could see the landscapes from above. Which fascinated me, I liked the shapes and textures of the lakes I saw. I also started to look up and down on Google Street View which I thought was also interesting. It made me realise again that I am online because I saw glitches and a weird dot in the sky. If I look back at my pictures I see a lot of water and that is something I would like to work with later on.I was intrigued by water during my last dérive. So, this could be a theme for my story.

- Travel through the water (video, animation)
- Shapes of lakes as patterns (poster or animation)

Inspiration

This installation draws information from the intensity and movement of the water in a remote location. Wave data is being collected in real-time from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data buoy station 46075 Shumagin Islands Alaska (53°54'39" N 160°48'21" W). The wave intensity and frequency is scaled and transferred to the mechanical grid structure resulting in a simulation of the physical effects caused by the movement of water from this distant location.

That gave me the idea of looking up data about water in different places f.e the cleanest water, the coldest water etc. and make it into some kind of journey around these places.

- Water quality? Movement? Amount?
- Best drinking water?
- Which city has the cleanest water?

Go explore these waters (take pictures and videos) and find data connected to it.

Lake Baikal

Maybe make a digital tour (maps,video, VR) where the viewer can explore some of the clear lakes and oceans, maybe even dive into the water if it's possible.

This work from last year inspired me to use google maps "Create own map" as a tool for my story.

The good thing about google earth is that it allows you to go through your map like a journey. Click on the link below and then present for the journey to start.

I found out that there are two tools to create my own map, one from google maps and one from google earth. I will make a prototype in both applications.

This could be useful if I want to make a screen recording of my journey.

- Combine texture and shape and add these images to the places on my map
