Adaptive Music in unity
I started by creating a new terrain and adding some trees and textures to it. While working on that, I collected paintings and 3D models that I had previously made, so I could add those to the terrain. I also researched a lot for assets that I liked and I found some really nice packages that contain vegetation, textures and materials which fit into my world. I also created materials out of the paintings to add them to different 3D objects. While doing this, I deepened my knowledge and I found out more about how to create a fantasy environment in unity. The next step will be to add some adaptive music.
Paintings
I used some paintings that I did previously (for the competencies) and some new ones that I painted during the plus weeks. It was a nice balance to working on the computer and fun to make. I didn't really think about how they will show on different 3d objects but that will be a surprise.
I followed the recordings of the elective again to add music to the scene. I ran into some problems but I also learned some new things. For example, I accidentally made it play only when the character is in the area. Then, I also figured out how to change the music when the character is passing a certain area. It helped me to do all the steps again and I definitely feel more secure now about using music in my projects. So far, I didn't give the scene or the music a lot of thought. It was more about learning technicalities and get more routined in using the programmes. In the future, I want to focus more on the content of the scene and adapt the music to that as well.
